What is Bullying?

Bullying can mean hurting someone physically or pestering them over and over again, such as hitting, shoving and chasing them. It can also mean gossiping, name calling, threatening or excluding a person from a group. Bullying is not within the normal range of peer conflict. It involves an imbalance of power, where the person being picked on feels helpless to defend themselves. The person who bullies is usually unaffected by the conflict, whereas the person who is victimized is, typically, very upset.
